 Selling the partial contents of 6 good country estates including:  A local Fishkill historian's collection of country Americana (many items purchased at Cal Smith's Pleasant Valley auctions over 25 years ago - owner is moving to smaller quarters), also moving to smaller quarters in Briarcliff Manor will sell a private collection of of good country collectibles,  a  partial contents of a good Millbrook NY architects estate, partial contents of a Connecticut estate, private collection of stoneware, other country items gathered throughout the Hudson Valley and New England. Highlights including an American gum wood Kas, important American 19th telescope with family provenance, 2 rare Fishkill NY floral coverlets dated 1841 & 1849, primitive portraits including young girl with basket of fruit, miniature water colors and large collection of unframed miniature portraits to be sold in large group, several primitive Hudson River paintings, stoneware collection, good country American furniture, folkart, decoys, garden furniture and statuary, etc. This is our best country sale of  the year - 450 -500 lots with 99% unreserved. Just found in the Millbrook estate a beautiful Gogswell & Harrington 16 ga. double barrell shotgun with engravings in excellent condition and from a Fishkill home a family handed down Winchester Model 1892 lever action rifle and a Parker Bros DBL shotgun circa 1870. Tons of collectibles including: Early kitchen items, quilts plus other textiles, over 100 oil lamps, RR lamps and lamp parts,  lots of good china and glassware, large amount of depression glass to be sold in 1 lot, fine French sporting bronze, 2 Edison phono's, lighting, decorative items, good country and formal artwork, frames, advertising items, antique showcases, good country items, etc. Please note many more items will be added to the catalog this week and many uncatalogued items - over 500 lots - Appointments for early preview can begin on Tuesday. COUNTRY AMERICANA SALE - MAY 22, 2010  12:00 Noon.  Fine sale of  country collectibles and folk art including part 4 of the Eliott Steckle estate Sharon CT, part 2  contents of a large Milton NY country home, downsizing and moving to smaller home will sell partial contents of Clinton Corners residence,  plus other fine country collectibles gathered throughout the Hudson Valley and New England.  Also, from an Ulster County country home, 5 decoys by Lloyd Johnson - these birds are fully carved but not painted (2 with white base coat) 1 preening,  and were purchased directly from Johnson by the consignor's father in Point Pleasant NJ,  circa 1955-1960.

Regular auction begins at 5:00 P.M. Note - Mrs. Townsend, having been taken ill, will sell per order of family, the contents of her modest home in Rhinebeck NY - she is a well known dealer and collector of glass - this is a great opportunity to purchase estate fresh early open salts and pattern glass with no reserves - large quantities from all periods and patterns - glassware to be sold in group lots and by choice - additional photos to be added daily during week of sale. Also, will sell approximately $1500 worth of face value silver coins found in rolls in a local attic, to be sold in large groups - most mid-20th century or earlier. From Roxbury CT, one owner collection of fine artwork amassed over the past 40 years. Sale to include early primitive paintings, Modernism, Abstract, Impressionist, WPA, still lifes, portraits, seascapes, illustrations,  rustic, etc. Most American from 1800-1980, but also other locations including France and Russia . Over 400 paintings and prints, many by listed artist. Some quality unidentifed art  either unsigned or with illegible signatures. Lots of good frames and art books sold in group lots.
